"A guide to Salida Trees" will be replaced with a standard reference in progress by city staff using approved references and updated climate zones.

Riparian vegetation must largely preserved and removal of more than 25% by mass should be approved by _______?

Increased lighting is actually associated with decreased safety in terms of burglary and vandalism. People moving at night should be provided with their own headlights to prevent tripping.

Add language to protect our “ghost murals” from being painted over and/or blocked from view. Allow for them to be touched up but have the arts commission involved in that.

I like the idea of using a percentage for open space requirement, rather than number of units as that can change over time. Ask Parks & Rec director to define the percentage amount.

Proposed Text Amendment: 16-4-190 (i) Recreational Vehicles

Amend #2 as shown in bold

2) Except as otherwise provided for in this section, VISITING* recreational vehicles under 26feet in length (*not parked by the property owner) may be occupied for residential or commercial use for no more than five (5) days on private property within a thirty-day period. Otherwise, recreational vehicles shall be used for human occupancy only when permitted as a conditional use in accordance with this Chapter or when located within a lawful mobile home park or recreational vehicle park. Occupancy of a recreational vehicle for commercial or residential use in excess of this limit shall be deemed a long-term occupancy of such vehicle and shall only be permitted as a conditional use in designated zone districts in accordance with the standards of such underlying zone district and as specified herein.

3) Recreational Vehicles, of all types (including 5th wheels and campers), over 26’ long, shall not be parked on public right aways, or on private residential property, for more than 30 cumulative calendar days per year, not to exceed 5 consecutive days.

*Exceptions for extended parking on a residential site only when permitted by a conditional use, with City to notice neighbors & outline setbacks.

So not eliminate parking requirements for residential zones.

Define who is responsible for maintaining sidewalks, park strip planting and maintenance.

One tree per lot, regardless of size. Remove 50’ frontage requirement. Designate responsibility for watering and care of said trees and what/who replaces them if they do not survive.

More trees and shrubs, not less.

Can we add xeriscape to our landscape planning?

Include protections for riparian vegetation and wetland, even when it is outside of the 25’ protection area.

6-4-80-(c)(2)b.1.- Who is providing the water?

Who is inspecting on a regular basis to ensure all these requirements are being met, that irrigation is being maintained, dead plants are being replaced, etc. ???
